They say that the third time is a charm, right? Well, that's how many times Secretary Kerry met with Netanyahu in Israel on Thursday.

Kerry meets Israel PM for third time in 24 hours

Israel's security needs have been a key sticking point both in the talks with the Palestinians and the Iranians. Debka is reporting that apparently Kerry has the answer to address that issue, so no more worries.

The security plan, which US Secretary of State John Kerry brought with him Thursday, Dec. 5, on his eighth trip for reviving Israeli-Palestinian peace talks, entails deploying a regional international force including US troops along the Jordan Rift Valley and West Bank in a future Palestinian state. This is reported by debkafile’s military and counterterrorism sources.

The plan . . .  was presented by Kerry for the first time to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem and Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah (emphasis mine).

At this blog, we often look at events that occur on the same-day as U.S. involvement with either peace talks with the Palestinians or nuclear talks with Iran. On the same day that Kerry presents Israel with a plan to address their security needs, Nelson Mandela, a man President Obama claims is his icon (although at other times, like when he received his Nobel Peace Prize, he gave that status to Mahatma Gandhi), dies.

Mandela was imprisoned for many years for protesting against South Africa's apartheid policies. Many consider Nelson Mandela to have been a man who promoted peace. On the very day that John Kerry, acting on President Obama's behalf, presented a plan of peace and security to the Israelis, President Obama's favorite "man of peace" dies.

In response to Mandela's death, President Obama did something that he often does when someone important dies -- he tweeted a picture of himself connected to that person. For instance, on the 50th anniversary of JFK's assassination just a couple of weeks ago, Obama tweeted a picture of himself looking up at a White House portrait of Kennedy. It is not unusual for Obama to tweet selfies of him photo bombing the actual person the occasion is honoring.

However . . . on this occasion, President Obama tweeted a picture that did not include a likeness of Mandela in some way (such as a portrait or statue); instead, he tweeted a picture of himself and his family IN A PRISON CELL.  So, in an eerie sort of way, Obama tweeted himself AS Mandela.

WH Marks Mandela's Death with Pic of Obama in Mandela's Cell

Obviously, Obama tweeted this picture in an effort to look poignant about the time Mandela spent in prison. In this picture he holds his youngest daughter on his lap while his older daughter and his wife look on, after all, this is about him, not them.

What strikes me is this: this is the SECOND time Obama has had himself photographed in a prison. And curiously enough, the first time was also in connection with Nelson Mandela and South Africa.

This past summer, in June, the Obamas flew to South Africa for a vacation. Obama had hoped to meet with Mandela, but the elderly man was quite ill at the time, and it appears that they did not meet. However, Obama took his family to Goree Island and took the opportunity for a photo op. I wrote about some of the symbolism of his trip in my July 1 post.

Interestingly enough, prisons are all about security and are rated in terms of their levels of security, such as "maximum security" or "minimum security."

And interestingly enough, prisons, or more accurately, their contents, have a played a key role in the peace talks that Kerry has been pushing since July of this past summer. Obama and Kerry required Israel to release Palestinian prisoners as part of the peace talks despite pushback from some members of Israel's Knesset as well as protests by Israeli citizens, many of whom lost loved ones to the very prisoners Obama and Kerry demanded to be released.

Now, on the very day that Obama and Kerry are promising Israel that they can have "security," Obama tweets a picture of him looking very forlorn sitting as a prisoner in a prison cell with his family. The prison cell Obama is sitting in was Mandela's cell on Robben Island, a MAXIMUM security prison.

In addition, on the very day that Kerry presents to the Israelis a plan to "ensure their security" that involves having a coalition of international troops physically present inside Israel's Jordan rift valley, President Obama lit TWO different menorahs at the White House, and while doing so, made comments on Iran's nuclear program. As we can see, the two events are connected, and not just on the same day, but at the same moment. And as the following article notes, Nelson Mandela died BETWEEN the two lightings.

Look at the wording used in the article:

The White House justified two celebrations this year to accommodate over one thousand guests, including members of Congress, three Supreme Court justices, donors and family friends, television stars and Israeli and Jewish leaders.

"Over the coming months," he said, "we’re going to continue our diplomacy with the goal of achieving a comprehensive solution that deals with the threat of Iran’s nuclear weapons once and for all."

News of Mandela's death broke suddenly between the two receptions, challenging the president to tie two seemingly foreign events to one another.

The president gave a brief eulogy from the press briefing room before returning to the Oval Office.

Two menorahs, Mandela, and Iran at the White House

The first menorah lit was designed by a Holocaust survivor, and the second menorah lit was recovered from a prayer hall in the Czech Republic that the Nazis burned to the ground.

And what is a eulogy but taking a moment to speak of the dead? While Obama's party is going on and between lighting the two menorahs and commenting on Israel's security in regards to Iran, President Obama had to stop because "suddenly" a man dies and Obama must address it.  President Obama had to take a moment to suddenly speak of a dead man, a man of peace who had been a prisoner and Obama claims was his icon.

So let's look at one other key note of interest from this article.

The article claims that the White House, i.e. President Obama, JUSTIFIED lighting two menorahs (an item usually found in a temple) because there were OVER A THOUSAND GUESTS.

While receiving these "THOUSAND GUESTS," Obama spoke of Iran.

Let's take a moment to remember BELSHAZZAR.

What does Daniel 5:1 tell us?

Belshazzar the king made a great feast to a thousand of his lords, and drank wine before the thousand.

Yes, while Belshazzar was celebrating with a thousand guests using items from the temple, his party was suddenly interrupted by a giant hand writing a message on a wall, an event that greatly troubled Belshazzar.  The prophet Daniel interprets the writing and tells Belshazzar he is doomed. Daniel tells Belshazzar, "Your kingdom has been weighed in the balance and is going to be taken from you and given to the Iranians. You are now a dead man."

. . . They kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and the Persians. --Daniel 5:28

In that night was Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans slain. --Daniel 5:30

The parallels between Belshazzar's night and what happened at Obama's party last night are not all that dissimilar:  while President Obama is entertaining a thousand guests using items (two menorahs) from the temple and speaking of the Iranians, his party is suddenly interrupted by news that troubled Obama, news of a dead man, so I would say this -- President Obama's destiny includes the Iranians, but the outcome will not be what he thinks it will be.

For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them . . .

Thou art weighed in the balances and found wanting . . .
