First, two noteworthy events to pay attention to today:

Netanyahu, Obama to meet in Washington on Sept 30

A bill that would allow non-physicians to perform abortions in the first trimester of pregnancy is awaiting signature by Gov. Jerry Brown of California by Sep. 30.

On Friday, 9/27, Obama Announces Something That Hasn’t Happened Since 1979, President Obama called the Iranian president and spoke to Rouhani. Obama now thinks 'Comprehensive' Solution Possible.

Please note in this official White House photo of the phone call Obama made to Iran, that, unlike the phone call Obama made to Benjamin Netanyahu June 2009, Obama does NOT have his feet on the desk.

Rouhani claims that on Thursday, officials from President Obama contacted him in order to present him with a gift: a 2,700-year-old, "7th century BC silver Persian drinking cup in the shape of a winged Griffin, a legendary creature with the head of an eagle and body of a lion," reportedly worth a million dollars. (Click on link to see picture.)

While this drinking cup is not from the Temple in Jerusalem, it is interesting to note that it is a drinking cup used to toast the gods.

Drinking cup aside, former U.N. ambassador John Bolton says that the Iranian president is just "playing Obama to buy more time to build a bomb."

Charles Krauthammer, like Bolton, believes Obama is being used and that, "Obama will ‘give a lot away’ and Iran will go nuclear ‘in a very short order.'"

On the VERY NEXT DAY, WITHIN 24 HOURS of Obama speaking to Rouhani, yet ANOTHER person publicly accused Obama of lying, this time about the bin Laden raid, claiming, "not ONE word of official account of raid that killed Bin Laden is true."

It is worth noting that of all the things to accuse Obama of lying about, especially since Obamacare is supposed to be opening for enrollment tomorrow and many have said that Obamacare is nothing but lies, the journalist who accused the Obama administration of lying claims it was the bin Laden raid, supposedly Obama's prettiest foreign policy feather in his cap, that is nothing "but one big lie." The bin Laden raid was over a year ago, so this accusation could have been made at any time but it is coming at the SAME TIME as Obama is reaching for another "historic" foreign policy feat -- talking to Israel's biggest enemy, Iran, and trying to showcase it as a good thing.

So let's flashback to February of this year.

Which movie won Best Picture? ARGO.

Who read the announcement? Michelle Obama.

What was unusual about that? A First Lady had never read the announcement before.

What was the movie about? How the Iranians stormed the U.S. embassy in Tehran and held Americans hostage for 444 days, and left then President Jimmy Carter humiliated as he was unable to secure their release. The movie, itself, is how the Canadians helped several of the Americans escape.

Interesting to note that the movie poster for Argo features a prominent "red line" across Ben Affleck's face. Argo was released October 12, 2012.

And interesting to note that the first time we heard the term "red line" was not from Obama on Syria, it was from Benjamin Netanyahu at the U.N. General Assembly last year, and it was in connection with Iran, or Argo. Netanyahu drew a red line on a picture of a bomb on SEPTEMBER 27, 2012. ONE YEAR LATER, ON SEPTEMBER 27, 2013, OBAMA CALLED IRAN'S PRESIDENT IN AN HISTORIC PHONE CALL.

So boasted headlines on 9/26/2013.

Oracle: divine messenger or message

America’s cup:

And as I looked, suddenly from the sky I saw a giant hand reach down. That gigantic hand was reaching out toward the Statue of Liberty. In a moment her gleaming torch was torn from her hand, and in it instead was placed a cup. And I saw protruding from that great cup, a giant sword, shining as if a great light had been turned upon its glistening edge. Never before had I seen such a sharp, glistening, dangerous sword. It seemed to threaten the entire world. As the great cup was placed in the hand of the Statue of Liberty, I heard these words, “Thus says the Lord of hosts, Drink ye and be drunken, spue and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send.” --excerpt, A. A. Allen’s Astounding Panoramic Vision of America’sDestruction: A New Interpretation from the Biblically-correct viewpoint of America as Babylon the Great, a Two-Year Warning (dated October 27, 2011)

In Psalm 11:6, David warns, “Upon the wicked he will rain snares (coals of fire)…fire…burning wind…will be the portion of their cup.” Why? David answered, “Because the Lord is righteous” (v. 7). This is a righteous judgment—just as in the judgments of Sodom and in Noah’s generation. --excerpt, David Wilkerson’s Urgent Message of March 7, 2009 (emphasis mine)

San Francisco:

At #1: San Francisco has long been the gay capital of the Americas for its constant fighting for LGBT equality and the many gay friendly neighborhoods, open minded population, and wide variety of attractions and amenities. --excerpt, Top 10 Gay and Lesbian Vacations in North America (at

I would encourage all to listen to this sermon by David Wilkerson preached in South Africa, March 23, 2004. It doesn’t go where you might think.

Isn't it interesting that on the same day that President Obama speaks at the U.N. in a VERY LONG speech, that Senator Ted Cruz began speaking for a VERY LONG time as well?

Obama stands up too long at speech, Reserved reactions to US president’s triple-length address from both American and international officials

Ted Cruz filibuster goes on all night

President Obama's long speech included expected comments about Syria, Iran and the on-going peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians. It was clear from President Obama's long speech that Israel cannot expect help on the Iran issue unless the Israelis produce successful results in the peace talks; in other words, the two issues are tied together.

Obama U.N. speech transcript

I've commented on that before.

In President Obama's worldview, usually the only view that counts, Israel's peace and security are NOT threatened by any nuclear program from the Iranians, but rather will be resolved when the Palestinian conflict is resolved; the whole region will settle into blissful existence if only Israel would follow Obama's words of wisdom. President Obama frequently acts as though he should merely speak the words and all will right itself as it should.

Israel does not hold this view. It does appear that they have accepted the premise that some measure of peace will come if they give up land to the Palestinians, but I'm pretty sure they don't share President Obama's belief that once they give up land and the Palestinians have half of Jerusalem as their capital (a capital that Obama probably would recognize) that the Iranians will say, "Ok, whew! They finally gave up the land -- shut down the centrifuges, mullahs. Mission accomplished!"

Yet, that is the course that our Ulysses is setting.

In the meantime, after Obama has spoken at LENGTH about two issues very PERSONAL to Israel, Ted Cruz starts talking at LENGTH about an issue very PERSONAL to Obama -- his signature healthcare legislation.

The legislation, poorly named the Affordable Care Act, is anything but affordable. Sticker shock, which we have been warned about numerous times in the past two years, is starting to hit home as families are starting to receive bills that have premiums TRIPLE what they have been paying in the past. At the same time, employers have been having to make tough choices about how many hours to give employees to avoid paying penalties demanded by Obamacare. Some employees find that their employers, because of the new Obamacare rules, will no longer cover spouses and children, leaving many families doing without. However, under Obamacare rules, doing without is NOT an option -- families MUST purchase health care from an exchange, regardless of the price or whether they have the funds or not to purchase. Obamacare rules require that families make healthcare premiums a PRIORITY over rent, mortgages, food or prescription drug costs as none of those expenses are REQUIRED TO BE PURCHASED by law. Faced with rising premium costs and fewer hours to work, where is the money going to come from?

Yet, Jay Carney, Obama's spokesman, says there is NO evidence that Obamacare is having any negative impact on American businesses.

The deliberate disconnect is stunning to behold.

And I haven't even touched on some of the "rules" governing how healthcare will be apportioned. When a 12-year-old girl recently needed a lung transplant and request was made for a set of adult lungs, Kathleen Sebelius, who is in charge of implementing Obamacare, said, "No" to the parents and explained, "those are the rules."

A college professor recently advocated that those who oppose Obamacare are "nonbelievers" and should be denied access to medical care. Sounds ridiculous until one realizes that's pretty much what the IRS has done under this administration for any groups that oppose President Obama -- they were denied access as groups to the political arena. Their "thinking" isn't the same as Obama's, they are "nonbelievers," therefore, they were denied accommodations that groups with thinking aligned with the President's received.

President Obama is counting on Obamacare as being his legacy, as what will be the defining issue historians and future Americans will hail him for. He is counting on it being eventually HUGELY popular and what no American would want to be without. He is a man who desperately wants to be remembered for forever and ever, listed among the greats like Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Roosevelt. He wants to be the fifth face on Mount Rushmore. He wants future schoolchildren to color his silhouette on President's Day and for teachers to tell the story of how he, against tremendous odds, righted and re-oriented a once unfair healthcare system to his way of thinking. He wants future generations of college students to discuss, not debate, the fundamental transformation he brought to America. He wants thesis papers to be written on the subject.

That's what he wants. But is it what he will get?

Critics of Obama's pet child claim that Obamacare will collapse under its own monstrous weight -- the question is not "if" it will take down the American economy when it does, but how much of the American economy. We are already seeing individual families faltering under the higher premiums and fewer working hours, and, in some cases as with the unions, finding that they CAN'T keep their former satisfactory healthcare plans. Some businesses are staggering under the weight of penalties and fees. Some businesses, like Hobby Lobby, are enduring crippling legal fees because of the Obamacare mandate that requires employers MUST subsidize employees' sex lives by providing FREE birth control AND if things don't go according to plan for the employees, then the employer MUST provide the means via abortificients to KILL the unborn child.

The President's response to the legal challenges has been, "too bad, so sad, but this is the way I think things should be."

The purpose of this blog is to point out events that happen on the same day or within 48 hours on issues that concern Israel, the President, natural disasters and cultural phenomenon. And on the same day that President Obama tied Israel's security in the face of a nuclear Iran to how much they are willing to do to move the peace talks along, not in a New York Times op-ed, not in official meetings in Washington, D.C., not in a lecture to Israeli college students in Jerusalem -- but behind the podium of the U.N. General Assembly and on the record, his baby came under attack -- not in the newspapers, not on talk radio, not in coffee shops -- but on the floor of the Senate and on the record.

or so says Benjamin Netanyahu about the new Iran nuclear deal being talked about.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, stepping up his effort to blunt a diplomatic offensive by Iran, plans to warn the United Nations next week that a nuclear deal with the Iranian government could be a trap similar to one set by North Korea eight years ago, according to an Israeli official involved in drafting the speech.

Article is at New York Times: Netanyahu Is Said to View Iran Deal as a Possible Trap by MARK LANDLER. (Sorry, but I don't link to the NYT; you'll have to google it.)

Netanyahu's choice of wording reminded me of similar wording in my March 4th post about a "political trap" being set for the Israelis that would result in them being attacked. The post was about the New Madrid and the prophetic words associated with a large earthquake in the center of the U.S. and efforts to divide Jerusalem.

. . . a man by the name of Sadhu Sundar Selvaraj spoke at a prophecy conference in December 2011 (Dec. 6, 2011, is the date he mentions in the YouTube). He believes the Lord showed him a massive earthquake will “pierce” the heart of the United States, but Selvaraj actually gives some details about events leading up to the earthquake.

Selvaraj said that the Lord showed him bombs falling on Jerusalem. He saw the Israelis fight back valiantly but with heavy losses. Selvaraj said that “a political trap” was going to be set for Israel, and it would be Israel’s best friend who would set the trap. He saw the Prime Minister and could see the Prime Minister was desperately hoping and trusting that their best friend will stand by their side to help them, but he was in a cornered position, not knowing what to do. In the midst of his helplessness, the best friend COMES with a political trap and the Israeli prime minister will trust their best friend and consent to the demand not knowing it was a trap.

In this instance Netanyahu does believe it to be a trap, but one can't help but wonder if President Obama will meet with Rhouhani of Iran (somehow) on the sidelines of the U.N. and walk away with some sort of demand for Israel. Something to watch.

Here are some thoughts on this year's U.N. meetings from Daniel at Prayers for the People.

Here is a short YouTube about the New Madrid.

Very insightful article from Times of Israel and linked to on Bill Koenig's site.

When they become PM, they realize how utterly dependent Israel is on the US’

The article is an interview with Eitan Haber, who was an aid to Yitzhak Rabin in the early 1990s, when the Oslo Accords were signed. He offers his perspective of the current efforts coming from John Kerry and the U.S. to move the peace talks forward.  In the interview he makes this very telling statement about where he believes the U.S. may be headed with their demands. The whole article is worth the few minutes it takes to read it.

And now, today, with the current effort at negotiations, why do you think Kerry thinks there’s an opportunity…?

I think Kerry understands today, better than any of us, that if it will be dependent on the Israelis, nothing is going to happen, and if it is dependent on the Palestinians, nothing will happen. And so, in my opinion, he believes, that in another few months, he will strike the table and will say that, ‘Gentlemen, we, the Americans, say this and that and the other.’ He will set out what he thinks needs to be done, ‘take it or leave it.’

What are the implications of a demand like that?

You’re better off taking it and not leaving it. Both sides. I think that he believes that that is how it will be. It is also possible that he is mistaken in this.

I cannot forget for a moment that once, James Baker, the secretary of state, got very angry at Rabin over something, and extended his head over the table and said, ‘America is right even when it is wrong.’ (Laughs.) America is America. Nothing can change that.

Many people, very many people, ask me what happens to political leaders when they enter the Prime Minister’s Office. Is there something in the ventilation system? Is there a special odor that causes dizziness? And I say, no. The people who make it to the second floor of Rehov Kaplan 3 in Jerusalem — only there, only there and not a moment before — is it understood to what extent the State of Israel is dependent on America. For absolutely everything — in the realms of diplomacy, security, even economically — we are dependent on America.

Therefore, when Uncle Sam is angry, they [in the Prime Minister’s Office] understand that a lot better than the group of irresponsible people in the Knesset who engage in all kinds of irresponsible argument at America’s expense and give advice and instructions.

If we, the U.S., Obama, were to put a demand on the table, if John Kerry were to "strike the table" and tell Israel "take it or leave it," what could be the consequences for us?

In my Aug. 6 post, THE UNCANNY DATE CHOSEN FOR THE NEXT ROUND OF PEACE TALKS, I noted columnist Jeffrey Goldberg's 7 "delusional" expectations from John Kerry in the current peace talk efforts. One of the expectations was that 81,000 Israelis would be moved out of the West Bank and the land given to the Palestinians.

With this new round of peace talks and under the Obama plan, look at hurdles “2” and “4” that Goldberg outlines above. Wikipedia notes that between 500 and 850 Jewish “settlers” live in Hebron, so it looks like a MINIMUM OF 50,000, and upwards of 81,000, Israelis citizens would be forced from their homes.

Can you imagine what the consequences might be if President Obama and John Kerry force 50,000 to 81,000 from their homes in Israel? Bush pressured Israel to evict 9,000 citizens from their homes. If the number 81,000 holds true, then President Obama is willing to force 9 TIMES AS MANY ISRAELIS FROM THEIR HOMES AS WHAT BUSH FORCED.

Last night I watched DISASTER IN THE ROCKIES, a 1-hr special from the Weather Channel about the historic, once-in-a-thousand years flooding going on in Colorado. I was stunned, even after watching the terrible news stories for the past week, to learn the devastating impacts from this flood. Entire communities are gone. About 200 people are still missing. Over 19,000 homes damaged or destroyed. The largest airlift operation since Katrina. Area affected is as large as Connecticut. Hundreds of businesses and farms destroyed. Over a thousand oil wells and fracking sites damaged. I've been linking to many of the articles with the statistics on my sidebar.

But one thing the Weather Channel said really stood out -- no one saw this coming. None of their early data suggested that the flooding would be of this scope. When it started, it just started -- no warning. The 1-hr special concluded with this note: this historic, "biblical" flooding would go into the history books as one of the worst natural disasters to ever hit the U.S.

I cannot help but wonder, as we threaten so many Israelis with the loss of their homes and their livelihoods, what we will suffer here? What will go into the history books next?

Not what Secretary of Defense Hagel thought he would be doing during same-sex marriage month in the military, nor what Obama thought he would be hearing from former defense secretaries.

Obamacare Will “Railroad” Americans Into Paying for Abortions on October 1

Obama nominates Cornelia Pillard to Court of Appeals of the D.C. Circuit.

Of President Obama’s judicial nominees who have exhibited hostility towards unborn children, perhaps none is as flagrant, or as out-of-touch, as Cornelia Pillard.

Given Pillard’s views on equal protection and abortion, she would likely find most laws enacted to protect unborn children and their mothers invalid, including such widely-supported measures as late-term abortion restrictions, parental involvement and informed consent requirements, and clinic regulations.

Washington Post is noting that the horrible Navy Yard shooting upended President Obama's script for the day.

From Newtown to Navy Yard, unpredictable calamities upend Obama's second term

Once again, it looks like the peace process was in play as John Kerry was in Israel on Sunday.

From JPost:

US Secretary of State John Kerry, who arrived in Israel on Sunday to meet Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, will likely tell his Israeli interlocutors that the US will see to it that the agreement with Russia is fully implemented. If not, Washington assures the Israelis that the military option remains on the table.

The secretary of state is also expected to make clear to Netanyahu that Washington remains committed to its policy of preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons irrespective of the fate of chemical weapons in Syria.

The Bible tells us that when they talk "peace and safety," then "sudden destruction" comes (I Thess 5:3) I think we get the idea sometimes that the "sudden destruction" means a sudden, worldwide, life-ending calamity, but I don't think so. More than once, as this administration seeks to reassure Israel and "guarantee" her safety, we see shootings and acts of violence like what happened at the Navy Yard. How can we "guarantee" Israel's safety, when we can't guarantee our own? This gunman, like numerous others, just opened fire -- it came out of nowhere, and with no warning. Iran could EASILY do the same thing -- just suddenly cut loose with some missiles and rain them down on Israel before Obama could do a thing. Ironically, Obama wants to end gun ownership here in America because he thinks that would end the problem of shootings like these, YET he does not want to end Iran's nuclear program because he thinks Iran can own nuclear material responsibly. Won't happen.  Iran's use of nuclear weapons is only a matter of when, not if.

Newsmax is reporting that Benjamin Netanyahu will meet with President Obama later this month at the U.N. meeting to press for tougher sanctions on Iran. I'm sure President Obama will get right on that.

As Obama's economic script was being "upended," so was the Costa Concordia, literally.

From Mail Online:

Raised in 60 seconds: Time lapse video reduces 19-hour, £500million mission to lift the Concordia to just one minute

ENE News is noting this about the flooding in Colorado:

Colorado’s richest oil field buried in flood waters, 1,000s of wells and sites affected — Official: “Scale is unprecedented… We will have to deal with environmental contamination” — Chemist: “It’s new territory” — Scientist: “Major public health risks” from contaminated water, sediment

And an FYI -- the Dodgers will be hosting the first ever LGBT night on Friday, September 27. They will be playing the COLORADO ROCKIES. . . . Interesting.

In yesterday's post, I noted a timeline from September 9 thru September 15. Throw this into the mental hopper as something interesting to note: a swarm of earthquakes began at Yellowstone on the 10th.

From National Parks Traveler:

More than 100 earthquakes have shaken Yellowstone National Park since last Tuesday, with the strongest, a tremblor of 3.6 magnitude, felt Sunday, according to the University of Utah Semisograph Stations.

The quake occurred at 9:53:02 a.m. Sunday; the epicenter of the shock was located in Yellowstone's Lower Geyser Basin area, 8 miles north of Old Faithful, and 15 miles southeast of West Yellowstone.

According to the seismograph station, the swarm began September 10 and has included quakes near Lewis Lake, the Lower Geyser Basin, and in an area northwest of Norris Geyser Basin.

"A total of 130 earthquakes of magnitude 0.6 to 3.6 have occurred in these three areas, however, most have occurred near the Lower Geyser Basin," park officials reported. "Notably, much of the seismicity in Yellowstone occurs as swarms. The University of Utah Seismograph Stations continues to monitor Yellowstone earthquakes and will provide additional information if the earthquake swarm activity increases."

The flooding going on in Colorado is simply stunning. The Weather Channel reported this morning that 4,500 square miles have been affected, and that the number of stranded people being airlifted to safety is rivaling that of those rescued in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Unlike Katrina, where people where waving from the rooftops of flooded homes and overpasses, the people in Colorado are in hard to reach areas of remote canyons. Rescuers are using helicopters to reach the flood-stricken areas as many roads are washed out, including 17 miles of road in one canyon alone.

Lots of information in this Mail Online article: Nearly 100 school children trapped by deadly Colorado floods are airlifted to safety after two days trapped by rising waters as terrible toll of the tragedy rises to six dead and more than 700 missing

Looking over the news accounts of the past few days, there is a coordinating timeline between the Colorado flooding and the other “BIG” news story, that of Syria.

On Monday, September 9, John Kerry made a gaffe while in London about Syria, a remark that HIS OWN STATE DEPARTMENT walked back as a “rhetorical” statement, an off-the-cuff remark. Yet Russia seized upon it immediately.

Syria timeline: how Kerry's gaffe became a plan

On Monday, September 9, wikipedia (2013 Colorado floods) notes this about the “biblical” flooding -- that the storm system that brought the incredible flooding set up September 9.

During the week starting on 9 September, a slow-moving cold front stalled over Colorado, clashing with warm humid monsoonal air from the south. This resulted in rain and flooding along Colorado's Front Range from Colorado Springs north to Fort Collins.

On Tuesday, September 10, President Obama addresses the nation that night on Syria.

On Wednesday, September 11, many commentators, some on the left but many more on the right, note that his speech was one of his worst, in terms of defining foreign policy, that he had ever given.

Debka, however, reports what no main stream media source reports here in America -- that the “Obama-Putin deal didn’t stop at chemical Syria: US eases sanctions on nuclear Iran,” (DEBKAfile Exclusive Report September 11,2013).

Iran, and not just Russia and Syria, is taking advantage of President Barack Obama’s decision to refrain from military force against Syria to collect a shower of diplomatic and political dividends.

The new Iranian president Hassan Rouhani announced Tuesday that the coming meeting of the General Assembly opening in New York later this month “may prove the perfect setting to reignite talks about the nation’s nuclear program.“ The US Treasury Department accordingly lifted a string of sanctions restricting humanitarian and athletic exchanges between US and Iranian NGOs and environmental projects, as a counter-gesture of good will.

Washington was not put off when that comment proved to be an exercise in image-burnishing for the benefit of the West. That same day, the Iranian president declared his country would not give up “one iota of its nuclear capabilities.”

debkafile’s Iranian sources disclose that the posturing on all sides provided the façade for the secret exchange of messages between Washington, Tehran, Moscow and Damascus.

They focused first on a Russian pledge to bring Assad’s chemical arsenal under international control and destroyed. This was followed by Tehran consenting to engage in direct dialogue with Washington when the next UN General Assembly session opens in New York on September 23.

Rouhani, who has consistently refused to enter into direct talks with Washington on his government’s nuclear program, said Friday, Sept. 6: “Initial steps in the future of nuclear talks may be taken in New York and then these talks will be pursued by the Group 5 + 1.” debkafile: For President Obama, the two issues - the disposal of Syria’s chemical weapons and resolution of the nuclear controversy with Iran - were closely interwoven in his quiet exchanges with Vladimir Putin, which emphasized the diplomatic, non-military route.

The Russian leader appears to have assured Obama that an agreed formula for defusing the Syrian chemical weapons issue without military force would provide the key to progress in nuclear talks with Iran.

Our Iranian sources report that Tehran was in on all stages of the discreet Obama-Putin discussions on Syria: High-ranking Iranian officials were present in Damascus and Moscow throughout, and points of agreement were brought to Tehran for approval.(emphasis mine)

Now we see that more is taking place than meets the eye.

It is worth noting that Hilary Clinton, when she was Secretary of State, once said that resolving the Iranian problem for the Israelis was directly connected to the Israelis' efforts in reaching peace with the Palestinians -- the Israelis couldn't have the one without the other.

Now, we see the Russians using the same tactic upon Obama: resolving the Iranian issue will not be accomplished without resolving the Syrian issue -- Obama can't have one without the other.

Debka reported this news on September 11.

On September 12, two notable events.

First, Russian president Vladimir Putin wrote an op-ed for the New York Times that basically, though subtly, insulted Americans in general and President Obama in particular. Several members of Congress spoke to various news agencies about the piece offending them. It is clear to many that Putin despises Obama.

Second, John Kerry flew to Geneva on Thursday. It is clear from this Debka report that more than just Syria would be discussed -- Iran’s nuclear program, a very direct threat to Israel, would also be discussed.

Wikipedia notes this about the Colorado flooding:

The situation intensified on 11 and 12 September. Boulder County was worst hit, with up to 18 inches of rain recorded by September 15.

By September 15, we are learning that 19,000 homes in Colorado, have been damaged or destroyed, 1000s have been evacuated and displaced from their homes and towns, and 100s are missing or unaccounted for. Several are dead. It will take months, if not years, for life to return to normal and infrastructure to be repaired, or replaced.

It would seem to me that the talks about Syria with the involvement of the Russians bears watching as there is more in play behind the scenes.

Also noted these two same day news stories for Monday, September 9:

Molasses Spill in Honolulu Harbor Kills Thousands of Fish

. . . a spill of 1,400 tons of molasses in Hawaii waters  . . .

The spill occurred Monday in an industrial area where Matson loads molasses and other goods for shipping. The harbor is west of downtown Honolulu, about 5 miles west of the popular Waikiki tourist area.

Ongoing Impact of Huge Molasses Spill in Honolulu Harbor Monitored

Marine life began dying Monday, when a ship loading 1,600 tons of molasses destined for the U.S. West Coast suffered a pipeline leak that dumped 233,000 gallons of the viscous material into the waters of the harbor. "This is the worst environmental damage to sea life that I have come across, and it's fair to say that this is a biggie, if not the biggest, that we've had to confront in the state of Hawaii," health department Deputy Director Gary Gill told KHON-TV, Honolulu, Thursday.

Same day:

Abercrombie calls for special session on same-sex marriage

Months of speculation are over, Governor Abercrombie called a special session on same-sex marriage Monday afternoon.

The Governor says it's the right thing to do and he believes he has the support needed in both the House and Senate to pass a bill that would make Hawai'i the 14th state in the nation to legalize same-sex marriage. Abercrombie says his decision is the natural progression in a discussion that began in this state 20 years ago.

"It's time for marriage equity to take place, and it's also time to recognize that it can take place without violating the religious principals of anybody in this state," Abercrombie said during his announcement at the State Capitol. (emphasis mine)

". . . it can take place without violating the religious principals of anybody in this state."

We shall see. There is a photographer in New Mexico, a bakery in Oregon, a private school in New Mexico, and several members of the U.S. military who would probably differ with Abercrombie's assessment.

In the strangest twist of history, it is Obama the radical leftist who is now acting as the destabilizing warmonger in the Middle East, while Vladimir Putin may be emerging as a stabilizing peacemaker.

Nobody can figure out whether Obama is the most hapless bumbler in history, or whether there is some sinister purpose behind it all.

It could be both.

But just as big a surprise is Putin's emerging role as a peacemaker.

Yes, surprising indeed. Take a look at some of the players in the Middle East who are starting to look to Putin for some answers.

Dangerous Times: Putin the Peacemaker vs. Obama the Warmonger

Koenig noted the following at his website about what the media are calling "biblical" flooding in Boulder, Colorado.

If that is, indeed, the connection, then perhaps California should take notice. The bill they have passed and Gov. Brown is getting ready to sign is truly dangerous.

One of the most frequent complaints heard about President Obama, besides he is really a Muslim, is that he isn’t really American. His supporters are quick to rush forward and first insult the critic and then proffer indignation as supporting evidence.

President Obama said something really strange in Sweden this week when asked by a reporter if his credibility was on the line because of the red line he drew on Syria.

He said it wasn’t.

Because, first of all, he didn’t draw a red line -- the world, and Congress actually drew that red line.

And it wasn’t his credibility on the line -- it is the international community’s and America’s and Congress’s credibility on the line -- not his.

That got lots of pundits chattering about his transparent attempt to pass the buck to Congress for some resolution passed a long time ago, about how serious he is about Syria and whether or not he said it was his red line or not.

But no one commented on what he REALLY said.

Obama said it wasn’t his credibility on the line, it was America’s. But wait! Isn’t he part of us, part and parcel? You know, the old three musketeers’ motto, “One for all and all for one”?

Isn’t what President Barack Hussein Obama really is saying here is, “Don’t you guys include me with those guys over there. I’m separate from America. We are not one and the same. I’m me and they are them. We are no way entangled here. So if you are going to question my credibility -- don’t. I will always have my credibility, and it is a totally separate entity from that of America’s. Don’t confuse or conflate the two. We are separate.”

Did he really just say, “Don’t include me in with the Americans”?

Many know about the prophecy in Isaiah 17 about Damascus becoming a "ruinous heap." Saw this article yesterday and thought of the prophecy. NOT saying this is fulfillment -- just sayin' it's something to watch. Could see how it would fulfill the prophecy.

Democrat Representative Alan Grayson is charging the Obama administration with "altering" intelligence gathered on Syria by Israel to make it say something other than what it does, namely that the chemical attack came from Assad. The intelligence from Israel indicates it may not have. This begs the question that IF TRUE, the Obama admin DID change the intelligence report to reflect  the narrative they want, then would they alter any intelligence gathered about Iran's nuclear program to reflect the narrative they want there as well? One can only ask at this point.  Like perhaps the Iranians AREN'T as far along as Israeli intelligence indicates?

Obama’s Smoking Gun Proof That Assad Was Behind Chemical Weapons Attack Was Doctored?

Do you realize that it was on 9/11 of last year that Benjamin Netanyahu stood before the U.N. and on a cartoon-like drawing of an old-school bomb drew a red line and that this year, on 9/11, our Congress may vote on Obama's "red line" on Syria (that he says he didn't really draw)?

Ummmm, Secretary Kerry isn't suggesting the U.S. military is available for hire to other nations, is he?

Isn't it amazing how often Obama or one of his cohorts is publicly called a liar?
