ECONOMIC DEVASTATION

We saw this coming, didn't we?

Reports are that growth slowed to a barely discernible 0.1 percent annual rate in the January-March quarter, according to the Commerce Department on Wednesday.

Let's flashback to Caroline Glick and January of this year when she took issue with remarks John Kerry made about Israel's economy to the World Economic Forum. Glick noted that Kerry intimated that President Obama, "has added the threat of Israeli economic devastation to its list of plagues that will befall the Jewish state" if Israel didn't give up Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria.

The question raised by this blog then was if our President threatened Israel with "economic devastation," could we see repercussions back here at home upon our own economy. With this latest report from Obama's Commerce Department, so it would seem.

ECONOMIC DEVASTATION

In addition, this blog often pays attention to the words that come out of this President's mouth, as well as the mouths of those who speak on his behalf, because many a time the dire predictions and hostile statements that he, or his officials, make seem to boomerang back upon us. This may be one of those instances.

The Economic Collapse blog adds some very disturbing facts about the U.S. economy at this time that are not very reassuring.

Like Fact #4:

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 20 percent of all families in the United States do not have a single member that is employed. That means that one out of every five families in the entire country is completely unemployed.

And Fact #15:

. . . the number of women in the U.S. on food stamps actually exceeds the number of women that have jobs.

Gregory Mannarino states the Commerce's report is indicating "massive economic slowdown."

Keeping with Glick for a minute, she also had something to say about the newest Kerry remarks, made behind closed doors to the Trilateral Commission, in which he seemed to say that Israel was on the course to apartheid since the peace talks fell apart.

Caroline Glick: Kerry's Words Depict Jews as 'Evil'

Charles Krauthammer believes Kerry should resign.

Krauthammer: Kerry's Remarks 'Beyond Nonsense,' 'Resigning-Type Statement'

Won't happen. But while we are speaking of people who should resign -- I think Jay Carney should for saying the released Benghazi email isn't about Benghazi.

Judicial Watch: Carney isn’t credible because we sued for BENGHAZI talking points and that’s what we got

At least Jonathan Karl had a moment where he acted like a reporter should when questioning Carney. Perhaps others will get a clue. The recalcitrance of MSM reporters to hold this White House accountable has done a terrible disservice to this country. Four Americans died in Benghazi. For that reason alone this can never be a "non-story" or a "fringe" story, no matter how many media personalities arrogantly dismiss Benghazi, thus four dead Americans, as such. It is clear that if this administration would not only not send military resources immediately to the aid of a consulate under siege but for all intents and purposes abandon those besieged individuals to whatever fate was to befall them, then know this -- that same administration will abandon you.

It is my opinion that those officials who surround the President sought, either under their own direction or at his, to protect him at all costs from any political fallout, especially since election day was a short 5 weeks away, and if that "protection" meant four American corpses would have to lie in the streets of Benghazi without explanation, at the expense of the truth, so be it. I believe that someone directed White House officials to come up with an explanation -- any explanation except the truth and throw it as slop to the American people for consumption, and no matter what do not retreat. That is the conclusion I have come to, and have seen nothing from this administration, and certainly not their media, to the contrary. That the media would chose to avert their eyes to four dead Americans because it is seen as the best thing to do in order to protect this President who advances their pet progressive causes, is appalling (which, in itself, is too mild a word to use).

Speaking of Americans under siege, the Iranians are still quite proud of their attack in 1979 against what we would call our Embassy in Tehran, though they call it a "spy den." Apparently, a leading cleric there in Iran has reminded the Iranian leader in a public address that American negotiators are "hostile enemies," and that should the American President "talk nonsense," "punch him in the mouth."

Oh, dear! Can you imagine if someone in Israel had suggested the same to Benjamin Netanyahu?

Yeah! Threatened economic sanctions! John Kerry would demand an immediate apology! Susan Rice huffing and puffing about how much they do for Israel with so little appreciation! Obama sternly addressing with tightened lips that he expects better from an ally. Joe Biden would blunder in with a gaffe about the Holocaust. The U.N. would attempt a resolution condemning. The E.U. would threaten yet more boycotts. Catharine Ashton would call for additional land divisions in Israel, this time Benjamin Netanyahu's house.

Response from the White House to Iran: crickets.

‘Rouhani, punch Obama in mouth’

Being punched in the mouth actually wouldn't be new to Obama. Remember this?
