First, two noteworthy events to pay attention to today:

Netanyahu, Obama to meet in Washington on Sept 30

A bill that would allow non-physicians to perform abortions in the first trimester of pregnancy is awaiting signature by Gov. Jerry Brown of California by Sep. 30.

On Friday, 9/27, Obama Announces Something That Hasn’t Happened Since 1979, President Obama called the Iranian president and spoke to Rouhani. Obama now thinks 'Comprehensive' Solution Possible.

Please note in this official White House photo of the phone call Obama made to Iran, that, unlike the phone call Obama made to Benjamin Netanyahu June 2009, Obama does NOT have his feet on the desk.

Rouhani claims that on Thursday, officials from President Obama contacted him in order to present him with a gift: a 2,700-year-old, "7th century BC silver Persian drinking cup in the shape of a winged Griffin, a legendary creature with the head of an eagle and body of a lion," reportedly worth a million dollars. (Click on link to see picture.)

While this drinking cup is not from the Temple in Jerusalem, it is interesting to note that it is a drinking cup used to toast the gods.

Drinking cup aside, former U.N. ambassador John Bolton says that the Iranian president is just "playing Obama to buy more time to build a bomb."

Charles Krauthammer, like Bolton, believes Obama is being used and that, "Obama will ‘give a lot away’ and Iran will go nuclear ‘in a very short order.'"

On the VERY NEXT DAY, WITHIN 24 HOURS of Obama speaking to Rouhani, yet ANOTHER person publicly accused Obama of lying, this time about the bin Laden raid, claiming, "not ONE word of official account of raid that killed Bin Laden is true."

It is worth noting that of all the things to accuse Obama of lying about, especially since Obamacare is supposed to be opening for enrollment tomorrow and many have said that Obamacare is nothing but lies, the journalist who accused the Obama administration of lying claims it was the bin Laden raid, supposedly Obama's prettiest foreign policy feather in his cap, that is nothing "but one big lie." The bin Laden raid was over a year ago, so this accusation could have been made at any time but it is coming at the SAME TIME as Obama is reaching for another "historic" foreign policy feat -- talking to Israel's biggest enemy, Iran, and trying to showcase it as a good thing.

So let's flashback to February of this year.

Which movie won Best Picture? ARGO.

Who read the announcement? Michelle Obama.

What was unusual about that? A First Lady had never read the announcement before.

What was the movie about? How the Iranians stormed the U.S. embassy in Tehran and held Americans hostage for 444 days, and left then President Jimmy Carter humiliated as he was unable to secure their release. The movie, itself, is how the Canadians helped several of the Americans escape.

Interesting to note that the movie poster for Argo features a prominent "red line" across Ben Affleck's face. Argo was released October 12, 2012.

And interesting to note that the first time we heard the term "red line" was not from Obama on Syria, it was from Benjamin Netanyahu at the U.N. General Assembly last year, and it was in connection with Iran, or Argo. Netanyahu drew a red line on a picture of a bomb on SEPTEMBER 27, 2012. ONE YEAR LATER, ON SEPTEMBER 27, 2013, OBAMA CALLED IRAN'S PRESIDENT IN AN HISTORIC PHONE CALL.

So boasted headlines on 9/26/2013.

Oracle: divine messenger or message

America’s cup:

And as I looked, suddenly from the sky I saw a giant hand reach down. That gigantic hand was reaching out toward the Statue of Liberty. In a moment her gleaming torch was torn from her hand, and in it instead was placed a cup. And I saw protruding from that great cup, a giant sword, shining as if a great light had been turned upon its glistening edge. Never before had I seen such a sharp, glistening, dangerous sword. It seemed to threaten the entire world. As the great cup was placed in the hand of the Statue of Liberty, I heard these words, “Thus says the Lord of hosts, Drink ye and be drunken, spue and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send.” --excerpt, A. A. Allen’s Astounding Panoramic Vision of America’sDestruction: A New Interpretation from the Biblically-correct viewpoint of America as Babylon the Great, a Two-Year Warning (dated October 27, 2011)

In Psalm 11:6, David warns, “Upon the wicked he will rain snares (coals of fire)…fire…burning wind…will be the portion of their cup.” Why? David answered, “Because the Lord is righteous” (v. 7). This is a righteous judgment—just as in the judgments of Sodom and in Noah’s generation. --excerpt, David Wilkerson’s Urgent Message of March 7, 2009 (emphasis mine)

San Francisco:

At #1: San Francisco has long been the gay capital of the Americas for its constant fighting for LGBT equality and the many gay friendly neighborhoods, open minded population, and wide variety of attractions and amenities. --excerpt, Top 10 Gay and Lesbian Vacations in North America (at

I would encourage all to listen to this sermon by David Wilkerson preached in South Africa, March 23, 2004. It doesn’t go where you might think.

Isn't it interesting that on the same day that President Obama speaks at the U.N. in a VERY LONG speech, that Senator Ted Cruz began speaking for a VERY LONG time as well?

Obama stands up too long at speech, Reserved reactions to US president’s triple-length address from both American and international officials

Ted Cruz filibuster goes on all night

President Obama's long speech included expected comments about Syria, Iran and the on-going peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians. It was clear from President Obama's long speech that Israel cannot expect help on the Iran issue unless the Israelis produce successful results in the peace talks; in other words, the two issues are tied together.

Obama U.N. speech transcript

I've commented on that before.

In President Obama's worldview, usually the only view that counts, Israel's peace and security are NOT threatened by any nuclear program from the Iranians, but rather will be resolved when the Palestinian conflict is resolved; the whole region will settle into blissful existence if only Israel would follow Obama's words of wisdom. President Obama frequently acts as though he should merely speak the words and all will right itself as it should.

Israel does not hold this view. It does appear that they have accepted the premise that some measure of peace will come if they give up land to the Palestinians, but I'm pretty sure they don't share President Obama's belief that once they give up land and the Palestinians have half of Jerusalem as their capital (a capital that Obama probably would recognize) that the Iranians will say, "Ok, whew! They finally gave up the land -- shut down the centrifuges, mullahs. Mission accomplished!"

Yet, that is the course that our Ulysses is setting.

In the meantime, after Obama has spoken at LENGTH about two issues very PERSONAL to Israel, Ted Cruz starts talking at LENGTH about an issue very PERSONAL to Obama -- his signature healthcare legislation.

The legislation, poorly named the Affordable Care Act, is anything but affordable. Sticker shock, which we have been warned about numerous times in the past two years, is starting to hit home as families are starting to receive bills that have premiums TRIPLE what they have been paying in the past. At the same time, employers have been having to make tough choices about how many hours to give employees to avoid paying penalties demanded by Obamacare. Some employees find that their employers, because of the new Obamacare rules, will no longer cover spouses and children, leaving many families doing without. However, under Obamacare rules, doing without is NOT an option -- families MUST purchase health care from an exchange, regardless of the price or whether they have the funds or not to purchase. Obamacare rules require that families make healthcare premiums a PRIORITY over rent, mortgages, food or prescription drug costs as none of those expenses are REQUIRED TO BE PURCHASED by law. Faced with rising premium costs and fewer hours to work, where is the money going to come from?

Yet, Jay Carney, Obama's spokesman, says there is NO evidence that Obamacare is having any negative impact on American businesses.

The deliberate disconnect is stunning to behold.

And I haven't even touched on some of the "rules" governing how healthcare will be apportioned. When a 12-year-old girl recently needed a lung transplant and request was made for a set of adult lungs, Kathleen Sebelius, who is in charge of implementing Obamacare, said, "No" to the parents and explained, "those are the rules."

A college professor recently advocated that those who oppose Obamacare are "nonbelievers" and should be denied access to medical care. Sounds ridiculous until one realizes that's pretty much what the IRS has done under this administration for any groups that oppose President Obama -- they were denied access as groups to the political arena. Their "thinking" isn't the same as Obama's, they are "nonbelievers," therefore, they were denied accommodations that groups with thinking aligned with the President's received.

President Obama is counting on Obamacare as being his legacy, as what will be the defining issue historians and future Americans will hail him for. He is counting on it being eventually HUGELY popular and what no American would want to be without. He is a man who desperately wants to be remembered for forever and ever, listed among the greats like Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Roosevelt. He wants to be the fifth face on Mount Rushmore. He wants future schoolchildren to color his silhouette on President's Day and for teachers to tell the story of how he, against tremendous odds, righted and re-oriented a once unfair healthcare system to his way of thinking. He wants future generations of college students to discuss, not debate, the fundamental transformation he brought to America. He wants thesis papers to be written on the subject.

That's what he wants. But is it what he will get?

Critics of Obama's pet child claim that Obamacare will collapse under its own monstrous weight -- the question is not "if" it will take down the American economy when it does, but how much of the American economy. We are already seeing individual families faltering under the higher premiums and fewer working hours, and, in some cases as with the unions, finding that they CAN'T keep their former satisfactory healthcare plans. Some businesses are staggering under the weight of penalties and fees. Some businesses, like Hobby Lobby, are enduring crippling legal fees because of the Obamacare mandate that requires employers MUST subsidize employees' sex lives by providing FREE birth control AND if things don't go according to plan for the employees, then the employer MUST provide the means via abortificients to KILL the unborn child.

The President's response to the legal challenges has been, "too bad, so sad, but this is the way I think things should be."

The purpose of this blog is to point out events that happen on the same day or within 48 hours on issues that concern Israel, the President, natural disasters and cultural phenomenon. And on the same day that President Obama tied Israel's security in the face of a nuclear Iran to how much they are willing to do to move the peace talks along, not in a New York Times op-ed, not in official meetings in Washington, D.C., not in a lecture to Israeli college students in Jerusalem -- but behind the podium of the U.N. General Assembly and on the record, his baby came under attack -- not in the newspapers, not on talk radio, not in coffee shops -- but on the floor of the Senate and on the record.

or so says Benjamin Netanyahu about the new Iran nuclear deal being talked about.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, stepping up his effort to blunt a diplomatic offensive by Iran, plans to warn the United Nations next week that a nuclear deal with the Iranian government could be a trap similar to one set by North Korea eight years ago, according to an Israeli official involved in drafting the speech.

Article is at New York Times: Netanyahu Is Said to View Iran Deal as a Possible Trap by MARK LANDLER. (Sorry, but I don't link to the NYT; you'll have to google it.)

Netanyahu's choice of wording reminded me of similar wording in my March 4th post about a "political trap" being set for the Israelis that would result in them being attacked. The post was about the New Madrid and the prophetic words associated with a large earthquake in the center of the U.S. and efforts to divide Jerusalem.

. . . a man by the name of Sadhu Sundar Selvaraj spoke at a prophecy conference in December 2011 (Dec. 6, 2011, is the date he mentions in the YouTube). He believes the Lord showed him a massive earthquake will “pierce” the heart of the United States, but Selvaraj actually gives some details about events leading up to the earthquake.

Selvaraj said that the Lord showed him bombs falling on Jerusalem. He saw the Israelis fight back valiantly but with heavy losses. Selvaraj said that “a political trap” was going to be set for Israel, and it would be Israel’s best friend who would set the trap. He saw the Prime Minister and could see the Prime Minister was desperately hoping and trusting that their best friend will stand by their side to help them, but he was in a cornered position, not knowing what to do. In the midst of his helplessness, the best friend COMES with a political trap and the Israeli prime minister will trust their best friend and consent to the demand not knowing it was a trap.

In this instance Netanyahu does believe it to be a trap, but one can't help but wonder if President Obama will meet with Rhouhani of Iran (somehow) on the sidelines of the U.N. and walk away with some sort of demand for Israel. Something to watch.

Here are some thoughts on this year's U.N. meetings from Daniel at Prayers for the People.

Here is a short YouTube about the New Madrid.

Very insightful article from Times of Israel and linked to on Bill Koenig's site.

When they become PM, they realize how utterly dependent Israel is on the US’

The article is an interview with Eitan Haber, who was an aid to Yitzhak Rabin in the early 1990s, when the Oslo Accords were signed. He offers his perspective of the current efforts coming from John Kerry and the U.S. to move the peace talks forward.  In the interview he makes this very telling statement about where he believes the U.S. may be headed with their demands. The whole article is worth the few minutes it takes to read it.

And now, today, with the current effort at negotiations, why do you think Kerry thinks there’s an opportunity…?

I think Kerry understands today, better than any of us, that if it will be dependent on the Israelis, nothing is going to happen, and if it is dependent on the Palestinians, nothing will happen. And so, in my opinion, he believes, that in another few months, he will strike the table and will say that, ‘Gentlemen, we, the Americans, say this and that and the other.’ He will set out what he thinks needs to be done, ‘take it or leave it.’

What are the implications of a demand like that?

You’re better off taking it and not leaving it. Both sides. I think that he believes that that is how it will be. It is also possible that he is mistaken in this.

I cannot forget for a moment that once, James Baker, the secretary of state, got very angry at Rabin over something, and extended his head over the table and said, ‘America is right even when it is wrong.’ (Laughs.) America is America. Nothing can change that.

Many people, very many people, ask me what happens to political leaders when they enter the Prime Minister’s Office. Is there something in the ventilation system? Is there a special odor that causes dizziness? And I say, no. The people who make it to the second floor of Rehov Kaplan 3 in Jerusalem — only there, only there and not a moment before — is it understood to what extent the State of Israel is dependent on America. For absolutely everything — in the realms of diplomacy, security, even economically — we are dependent on America.

Therefore, when Uncle Sam is angry, they [in the Prime Minister’s Office] understand that a lot better than the group of irresponsible people in the Knesset who engage in all kinds of irresponsible argument at America’s expense and give advice and instructions.

If we, the U.S., Obama, were to put a demand on the table, if John Kerry were to "strike the table" and tell Israel "take it or leave it," what could be the consequences for us?

In my Aug. 6 post, THE UNCANNY DATE CHOSEN FOR THE NEXT ROUND OF PEACE TALKS, I noted columnist Jeffrey Goldberg's 7 "delusional" expectations from John Kerry in the current peace talk efforts. One of the expectations was that 81,000 Israelis would be moved out of the West Bank and the land given to the Palestinians.

With this new round of peace talks and under the Obama plan, look at hurdles “2” and “4” that Goldberg outlines above. Wikipedia notes that between 500 and 850 Jewish “settlers” live in Hebron, so it looks like a MINIMUM OF 50,000, and upwards of 81,000, Israelis citizens would be forced from their homes.

Can you imagine what the consequences might be if President Obama and John Kerry force 50,000 to 81,000 from their homes in Israel? Bush pressured Israel to evict 9,000 citizens from their homes. If the number 81,000 holds true, then President Obama is willing to force 9 TIMES AS MANY ISRAELIS FROM THEIR HOMES AS WHAT BUSH FORCED.

Last night I watched DISASTER IN THE ROCKIES, a 1-hr special from the Weather Channel about the historic, once-in-a-thousand years flooding going on in Colorado. I was stunned, even after watching the terrible news stories for the past week, to learn the devastating impacts from this flood. Entire communities are gone. About 200 people are still missing. Over 19,000 homes damaged or destroyed. The largest airlift operation since Katrina. Area affected is as large as Connecticut. Hundreds of businesses and farms destroyed. Over a thousand oil wells and fracking sites damaged. I've been linking to many of the articles with the statistics on my sidebar.

But one thing the Weather Channel said really stood out -- no one saw this coming. None of their early data suggested that the flooding would be of this scope. When it started, it just started -- no warning. The 1-hr special concluded with this note: this historic, "biblical" flooding would go into the history books as one of the worst natural disasters to ever hit the U.S.

I cannot help but wonder, as we threaten so many Israelis with the loss of their homes and their livelihoods, what we will suffer here? What will go into the history books next?
